I haven't posted a blog in like forever! So I thought I would share you my drugstore purchases that I bought last week. I will also do a mini review on the products. The products are:
Revlon 12 hour colorstay eyeshadow quads in Wildflower and Azure Mist
Loreal Extra Volume Collagen Mascara in Waterproof Extreme Black
Loreal Voluminous Mascara in Waterproof Black
Loreal Pencil Perfect Eyeliner in Carbon Black
I really like the Revlon eyeshadow quads. The colors are really pigmented and glide on really easy. For the eyeshadow quad Wildflower however, the colors were too light to really show up on my skin. I think this is because it is meant for someone who has more fairer skin than I do, but the colors will look great for a base or highlight on the eye. Azure mist will create a great smokey eye look. I will post swatches on another post for you! :)
For the staying power, it claims that it lasts 12 hours. I haven't worn the eyeshadow for 12 hours strait but I did have it on for about 10 hours and it stayed pretty well with eye primer.
Out of the two mascara's listed above my favorite would be the extra volume collagen by Loreal. The Brush is a pretty big one which I like because it creates big huge thick lashes. I have long lashes but they are straight as my hair, lol. So having volume in the mascara really brings them out. For the staying power however, it didn't really last all day but I found it easy to touch up with. I heard from numerous people that it clumped really easily but I never encountered this problem applying the mascara. I only needed about two coats to have that dramatic look. Make sure you use waterproof eyeshadow remover because this mascara is tough to get out!!
I have heard good things about the Loreal Voluminous mascara but I was slightly disappointed with it. It created more of a natural looking volume than dramatic volume. It will look great for a nice natural look. I guess I like more of the dramatic looking lashes, hehe. This also tended to clump on me but not so much that you could notice. For the staying power it did stay on pretty well all day but faded by 10 hours.
The eyeliner worked out great as well. Very easy to apply and not too dark (which I hate). Will post a swatch as well! Also this stayed on all day without smudging!
