What its Like to Get a New Wardrobe

Hello!

It has been one long weekend but such a fun one! I got a whole new wardrobe! Yes I started from scratch. If you have not been following me on my blog, I have recently lost 71 pounds. I went from a size 16 to a size 6! Therefore I needed to get new clothes. I started out shopping 9 AM which was very early for me, hehe. I sold my old clothes and only got $32 (sadness) but it was better than nothing! I started out at JcPenny. I went into eagerness trying on items of clothing. And like all of us go into the dressing room with 50 things and come out with 5. That trip went out well, found some great jeans, shorts and tops. I went then over to Kohls. Which isn't really my favorite store (not my particular taste). I did however find two capri's and a pair of shorts. Then we headed over to the mall. By now I was impressed that my boyfriend could keep himself entertained (I think it was that Nintendo DS he had - hehe). Macy's was a huge hit! There were so many clearance racks to keep me busy. I found great deals- many items under $10! I got a pair of jeans, lots of tops, two dresses, a skirt, and a couple of cardigans.
I then went to other shops including Victoria's Secret, Charolette Russe, American Eagle and Old Navy. I got the cutest skirts, cardigans, tank tops, and dresses. I also got me two waist cinching belts - which look very nice (and more expensive than $9!).

My favorite part of the trip was shopping at DSW! It is one of my favorites. I got me a pair of 4" Gladiator Heels. I got them for $30 (with $20 off coupon!)! I can't wait to wear them. They are very comfy surprisingly and are easy to walk in. I also got me a pair of brown flats with a little bow on the top from Target.

Well that is my trip in a nutshell. It was such a wonderful experience. It was so fun trying on clothes that you normally don't fit into and then looking at a whole new you.

Tips on buying new clothes:

- Look for clearance racks - you will be surprised at what you will find!
- Ask for gift cards for christmas/ bday and save them for that big shopping trip
- Sales in department stores are great- look for grand opening sales, semi- annual sales, etc. where you will get half off
- Also shop for non seasonal items - for example, skirts in September and Sweaters in March/April (these will all be on clearance).
- Also stick to what you need - narrow down what you don't have in your closet already and shop for that. Unless you are like me and need to start from scratch!
- Save, Save, Save! ;)
- And most of all- have fun!!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and I will ttyl!

- Heidi
