Unique Celebrity Gossip and Fashion News Website Launched during Cannes Film Festival … - YAHOO!

A British entertainment news site which was launched during Cannes film festival and Monaco Grand Prix has been incredibly well-received by the public and has already built up a loyal readership from around the world after it nearly crashes from people logging on in their droves in first twenty-four hours.

A "darkly glossy" fashion and entertainment news website which was launched to coincide with the 65th Cannes film festi val and the Monaco F1 Grand Prix has been deemed an "overwhelming success" by it’s founders.

The deliciously opinionated, and at times wicked, site bohomoth is the brainchild of veteran British showbiz reporter Jenny Paul, who says she came up with the concept after spotting a gap in the market.

"I felt strongly that there was a lack of entertainment websites that report celebrity news as it happens with a funny, informed, take no prisoners attitude, but written by long-term industry professionals with bulging contacts books," says Paul, who has regularly reported for Us Weekly, E! News, People magazine, The New York Post, ABC News, The Sun, The Mirror and countless other newspapers and magazines globally over the past twelve years. “People love the concept because we’re so honest with our readers and not driven by pleasing PRs or advertisers. The idea is that reading bohomoth.com is like gossiping with a couple of in-the-know friends over a glass of wine or two. So we cover celebrity news and gossip, give people their fashion fix and also talk about the latest up and coming artists in both the arts and the music worlds. We started off writing bohomoth.com as a blog a couple of months ago and without advert ising it or any financial backing, we had so many hits that we decided to launch as a fully functioning website. Within twenty-four hours of launching with a slick new design done by a top London-based media company, we were inundated with such a huge amount of hits from around the world that the technical wizards were having to monitor it carefully to make sure we didn't crash. I'm overwhelmed and very pleased people like what we're doing so much."

Written with esteemed fashion editor Aisling O’Connor, the website already has a loyal readership and has had an incredibly positive response from readers worldwide, not just in Europe where the site is based.

Launching during last week’s 65th Cannes film festival and Monaco Formula One Grand Prix was a no-brainer says Paul: "Cannes film festival is one of the most glamorous events in the showbiz calendar.

"Combined with the Monaco Grand Prix, there couldn’t be a more glitzy backdrop to launch an entertainment news website.

“We’ve had a staggering amount of hits and fully aim to continue and grow whilst remaining true to the brand, and serving up honest and highly-addictive copy.

"We have big plans for the future and with print publications becoming a dying medium we couldn’t be more thrilled to be involved in building an exciting online concept like bohomoth.com."
