Let’s say this up front: Most stars walking the red carpet at an awards show â€" particularly one as prestigious as the Daytime Emmys â€" look fantastic. Nominees, presenters and noted guests have teams of designers hired simply to make sure that the celeb looks fab as the photographers snap away.
Every once in a while, though, things go horribly wrong.
Ellen Degeneres
Like the time Ellen Degeneres showed up at the 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in suspenders. Perhaps they were supposed to distract our eyes away from her hideous brown shoes? (Degeneres, a very funny lady, is a repeat offender who will show up again on this fashion list.)
Aretha Franklin
With all due respect to Aretha Franklin, this low-cut (!!) outfit made it look like you didn’t even try. And did we say, “Low cut?†Yikes!
Stacy Haiduk
Remember that time The Young & The Restless star Stacy Haiduk showed up on the red carpet with a purse made out of a stuffed cat? Yeah, we’re still having nightmares over that one.
Judith Chapman
Uh, Judith Chapman? This is the Daytime Emmys, not The Nativity Story.
Degeneres, again
Ellen’s back. And she actually won at the 34th Annual Daytime Emmys. Obviously the award wasn’t for fashion, because waiters wouldn’t be caught dead wearing this white-and-black number.
Tyra Banks
But the worst remains Tyra Banks, who often looks smashing at the Daytime Emmys. Not in 2007, though, when she showed up in this brown-gold tinfoil-looking dress. The look on Banks’ face says it all.
