There have been a lot of opportunities for celebrities to flaunt their fashion know-how this week, but some have taken to the challenge better than others.
Today we are rounding up our favorite celebrity looks from New York Fashion Week and also showing what happens when drop-dead gorgeous women wear hideous dresses in public.
Here are our favorite and least-favorite looks of the week:
The Hits
Leighton Meester - Although she might not be a big-name star just yet, Leighton Meester looked amazing at a Miu Miu film screening during New York Fashion Week. The Gossip Girl actress wore a daring Prada dress with a pale yellow skirt and red accents. The plunging v-neck kept the look sexy while she still looked playful. And we love the red lipstick and red handbag as well.
Victoria Beckham - It seems strange to see Victoria Beckham rocking a plaid pattern, but the former Spice Girl turned fashion designer pulled it off without looking drab. The gray Roland Mouret shift dress that she wore out and about in New York paired perfectly with a plumb sweater and nude pumps. Plus, you've got to love the oversized clutch bag and chic shades.
Jessica Alba - This hot mom of two is showing off her curves with this sexy cut-out Calvin Klein dress that she chose for the designer's runway show this week. The teal color pops and we love the leather neckline. Plus, Jessica kept the look cool with black tights, a patterned clutch and orange nails.Â
The Misses
Cate Blanchett - When we first glimpsed Cate Blanchett in this Juan Carlos Obando frock, we were just confused. The dress looks like a weird, thrown-together trash bag with a pop of neon and silver for good measure. We can't get behind the cut or style of this dress, but otherwise Cate would have looked lovely with that chic bob haircut and red lipstick.Â
Christina Hendricks - This Mad Men star has switched decades on us and gone full-on "Dynasty" with this purple floral dress. The '80s look just isn't doing anything for the gorgeous actress. She's looking a little matronly in the long-sleeve ensemble. And are those shoulder pads? Hendricks should stick to the classic silhouettes of the 1960s and burn this dress the first chance she gets.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley - There's no doubt that model and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is an incredibly beautiful woman. But this strange, cape-like dress reminds us more of a bad figure-skating costume than a stylish fashion choice. Had someone taken a hatchet to the dress and chopped off all the extra fabric, we might have liked this. But no dice. It's a disaster.
