LIM College's Fashion Lab Lets High School Students Spend the Summer Getting a Taste of NYC's Fashion World - Yahoo Finance

NEW YORK, March 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- LIM College, which is located in New York City and focused exclusively on the study of business and fashion, has announced that its 2012 Summer Fashion Lab Program for High School Students is now accepting registrations.

Open to students entering their sophomore, junior or senior year of high school in the fall of 2012 the LIM College Summer Fashion Lab program is a series of classes that offer participants the opportunity to begin to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to enter the fashion industry. By studying the business of fashion with talented professionals at LIM College's Manhattan campus, participants will explore firsthand many of the exciting career opportunities the fashion industry offers.

This year's courses include: Behind the Scenes: Fashion Field Trips, Celebrity Styling, Event Planning, Fashion Buying, Fashion Communications, Fashion Magazines, Fashion Photography, Fashion Police, Fashion Show Production, Fashion Styling, Marketing Communications, Social Media & Mobile Marketing, and Visual Merchandising and Display. This year, the College expects its highest attendance ever, with more than three hundred students registering for a total of approximately 600 courses.

LIM College's 2012 Summer Fashion Lab classes will run four successive weeks from July 9 - August 3. Most classes are one week long with a choice of a morning session (8:45 amâ€"12:30 pm) or an afternoon session (1:30 pmâ€"5:15 pm). Students can take one course in the morning, one course in the afternoon, or both, for a total of up to eight courses over four weeks. Most of the courses offer one college credit so students can take any three credit-bearing courses to earn the equivalent of a three-credit elective at LIM College (one time only). Typically, LIM College Summer Fashion Lab students register for two or more courses each.

LIM College offers housing to Summer Fashion Lab students at the state-of-the-art 1760 Residence Hall on Manhattan's Upper East Side. The 1760 Residence Hall features secure, air-conditioned, double and triple rooms with private bathroom facilities.
