The new reality series is in search for America’s next big brand
Project Runway, move over! Jessica Simpson, John Varvatos and Nicole Richie have teamed up for an all new series, set to debut on NBC on March 13 at 9:30/8:30c, called Fashion Star.
The show will feature aspiring fashion designers competing with one another, who at the end of every challenge will have to present their work to the judges panel of fashionistas, the LA Times is reporting.
According to NBC, supermodel Elle Macpherson will host the new reality-based fashion series and style icons Jessica Simpson, John Varvatos and Nicole Richie will serve as mentors.
Fourteen driven individuals will be competing for the next big brand in fashion. Contestants range from stay-at-home mothers to recent graduate students. Although they all come from different backgrounds, they are all striving to become America’s next Fashion Star, as reported by the network.
The show will also feature buyers. Caprice Willard, vice president and regional planning manager for women's apparel for Macy's Southwest region, will of course be the buyer for Macy’s department store.
In addition, Nicole M. Christie, originator of the U.S. sales organization for H&M, will serve as a buyer for that company.
The third buyer, Terron E. Schaefer, Saks Fifth Avenue's executive vice-president and chief creative officer, will serve as a buyer for Saks Fifth Avenue.
